Shotgun Night Operations

This course teaches the student to effectively utilize a shotgun in low light conditions, and incorporates the tactical use of a flashlight and other lighting methods. The night shoot teaches various target identification and sighting techniques specific to limited visibility. The student reinforces the day class instruction and learns additional skills while under the cover of darkness. Previous Shotgun training is required. Upon completion of the course, the student should be proficient with:

+ Fundamentals of shooting a shotgun
+ Patterning
+ Zones of fire
+ Indoor and outdoor firing positions
+ Shooting from a barricade
+ Sling Use, mounted from a slung position
+ Use of weapon in low light and night environments with movement
+ Ammunition management
+ Weapon Retention
+ Close quarters conflict
+ Transition Drills (pistol to shotgun, shotgun to pistol)
+ Utilizing night vision

Equipment: (Equipment can be provided, upon request in advance)

+ Shotgun with sling
+ Eye and ear protection
+ Knee and elbow pads
+ Pistol, magazines, and holster
+ Handheld or weapon mounted flashlight
+ Hat
+ 150 Rounds Birdshot
+ 25 Rounds Birdshot
+ 50 rounds handgun ammo. for transition drills
+ Sack lunch
