Ammo Accountability Act

Heads up to all of you who swore to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign AND domestic.

Let your state Legislatures know that we do not want this bill passed, and petition them to vote no on this bill. We should keep after them until the bill is closed by bombarding them with e-mails, phone calls, and letters.

Get to all your politicians to get to work and NOT LET THIS HAPPEN!!!

The Ammunition Accountability Act is being introduced across the country. Below is a list of states where legislation has already been introduced: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his minions and allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including handloaded ammo.) They will also charge a 05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

Please give this the widest distribution possible and contact your Reps!

This cannot happen. The

This cannot happen. The constitution that Obama SWORE to protect plainly states that we have the RIGHT to bear arms! This law would make it next to impossible for casual firing to occur. I don't have a gun range membership nor do I plan to get one. It's hard to justify paying so much more money for ammo just to tinker around at some cans and assorted fruits/veggies. This is just ridiculous. The government is just trying to control our every move... If we let them into this aspect of our lives what else will they want? Will they start saying what we can/can't spend our own money on? "no, you don't need new socks, you've got 6 pair already" This has to stop before it gets started....

First I would like to begin

First I would like to begin by stating that our dear and beloved president has lied to us yet again. Or did he just forget to mention that though he has no intention of taking our firearms away he does plan to remove the ammunition from those firearms. This plan goes beyond the second amendment because there is nothing on the second amendment that states the firearms we are able to bear has to be loaded. This my friends is wear our slippery little friends the so called "free Thinkers" of america... Liberals. The first step in controlling is to remove the ability to fight the controll.
Second AS an avid shooter and reloader, I cast my own bullets, and soon it looks like I am going to have to figure out how to make my own powder. I stand by America, the country that I have sworn to defend against all threats both foreign and Domestic. Unfortunatley there are those of us that feal there is a bigger domestic threat that foriegn theese days. So, what happens when you disarm the populace who do you disarm? Simple awnser the honsest.
Third it seems that this law is spreading like wildfire amongst the blue states, even my own home state of Washington has jumped on board, therefore I fear with the traitorus Moderate Republicans. Those that are too free thinking to be labled as conservative. Just more lapdogs for Pelosi and her ilk.
Fourth This law will not stop crime, it will not stop weapons violence, it will not stop the Mexican drug war, it will not stop anything. What it will do is make those that are law abiding citizens just that much more of a victim of the the regulation and bantering from the left. Because what would happen if all the criminals were locked up? Or all of the illegal immagrants were sent back to their countries and barred return to our land? No Liberal would ever be elected again. So as I banter on about how Politicaly motivated this bill is, I Charge you, the reader (if You've made it this far) with this, Hold your representatives Both state and federal accountable with their vote. And if this law is passed in your state, Then fight it, challenge it. I am lucky that even though my home state is Washington I am blessed to live in Texas, where a Law like that would get laughed out of the city limits of Austin.
Fifth It is apparent that our elected officals have forgotten their primary job, not to controll those that have elected them but to represent their wishes in the Congress and Senate. Lets send them a message.

Personally I am tried of

Personally I am tried of being lied to by politicians. Even our Governor lied to us about his stance on our gun rights. Everyone needs to fire the incumbent politicians unless they have proven voting record for our gun rights. We as voters have the power to remove these two faced liars from public service. Now we have these nuts taxing and registering ammunition, that is just plain crazy. Don't we have a large enough budget deficit as it is? This system will cost more than it could ever collect. Personally I reload, if they do not like it, I say say to bad and get over it. If you try to take my ammo it is the same as taking guns. It just isn't going to happen!

NOT SURPISED AT ALL! I wish

NOT SURPISED AT ALL! I wish I could say I am surprised, but unfortunately I am not. I am more disappointed than anything else. With the ongoing rise in our states deficit as well as taxes, to the poor government we have in this state, my faith in our leaders ability to do the right thing both at a national as well as a local level are dwindling. I find it very hard to truly believe we live in a democracy anymore. The manner in which the local and national government is methodically punching holes through our constitutional rights is deplorable. It has always been the case with anything, that the good always suffer for the bad. I believe the reason is because it's easier to control those that can be controlled, the good law abiding citizens and business owners who are willing to do whatever is within reason without infringing upon our constitutional rigths to comply with the law, while the criminals sit back and laugh loudly. Politicians go out of their way to get elected without truly being interviewed for the job. You can't beleive anything with all the mud slinging during these campaigns, and then in the end regardless of who you vote for, you can only pray that you voted wisely, and see the positive results instead of lies, excuses and more disappointments regarding many issues. Our rights are being ignored as far as I am concerned, and like the folks who commented here, it may at a fraction (if that much) decrease the amount of crimes of illegal posession and purchase of uncoded ammunition and firarms but it won't elininate it. But as with all government, they look mainly to decrease at best if they know they can't eliminate it. Either way they look good so their resumes can say that while holding office they decreased the amount of illegal ammo out there and made a significant impact. Sure on the good people! It is truly a shame that this continues to happen in this country, and we as tax payers, voters truly have no say in the end.
Although I vote, I truly believe that the right to vote has only become a false sense of control given to us because of law and the constitution. Whether we vote to impeach or remove failures who have been elected, we just can't seem to find a level playing field and happy medium. The sheer lack of common sense is shattering. This kind of thinking is exactly what corporate America has adopted with running a business and that is one of the biggest reasons why this country is in the shape it's in. I am a patriot but my leaders are failing miserably on many issues and subjects. How can I trust a government who sends money to other countries to help them rebuild either from us leveling them in war or because of natural disasters while we have people in the French quarter still living on the street many years after hurricane Katrina? This is just the tip of the iceberg of things wrong within our country. But it all adds up to the fact that our government has a keen way of repeating the same mistakes over and over again while the tax payers absorb the brunt of the failures financially and personally. A tradgedy at best!

In this case of coding ammo, I am surely not going to support this one!
As far as the whole CCW debacle, how in the world our local government is allowed to appoint people to positions without the vote of the people (Case in point OC Sherriff) is beyond me. Just another reason why we are in the shape we are in here. Common sense? Gone! Leadership? unstable! Accountability? Extinct! But we must remember, they are all human, they are not perfect and they do make mistakes. It would just be nice if they took accountability for the mistakes and be responsible for fixing them instead of passing them off to the taxpayer or their successors.
