Advanced Tactical Medical - (2 Day)
Next class has not been scheduled yet.The two day Tactical EMS course will build on the one day course. A brief review will start the day off and lead directly into brief exercises and culminate with small group tactics and medical applications applying what has been learned from day one. If you are squeamish, be prepared as the scenarios will be messy. Bring a set of clothes that you don't mind ruining, but can also operate in. Also, the moulage [simulated injuries] will be prepared by an expert in Hollywood FX.
We will learn to deal with traumatic injuries when professional medical assistance is not immediately available. This course will further broaden the student's medical skill sets and orient the student to small team medical tactics such as those practiced by today's SWAT Team Medical Operators. This is valuable knowledge that will enhance the security of your family and work place in all situations and activities. *
Topics Covered:
+ Life saving interventions- gunshot & traumatic injuries
+ Hemorrhage control (pressure dressings, hemostatic agents, & tourniquets)
+ Identifying injuries and proper treatment
+ Airway & chest injuries
+ Care under fire / direct threat
+ Tactical field care / indirect threat
+ High threat extraction / evacuation
+ Patient stabilization
+ Triage
Equipment needed:
+ Comfortable clothing (that you don't mind ruining)
+ Sack lunch
