1911 Custom – Cylinder & Slide

A 5 day class where the student will take a Springfield Mil-Spec 1911 and completely customize it. The class will cover internal polishing of the frame and slide, frame to slide fit, ejection port modifications, grip safety installation, thumb safety installation,ejectors and extractors, fitting of a semi-drop in barrel, barrel bushings, trigger installation and trigger pull and sight installation. At the completion of the class the student will have taken a Mil-Spec 1911 and customized it to a pistol with a value of $2500! Parts and tools are part of the class fee (Springfield Mil-Spec Model PW9108LP not included) – tuition, parts and tools are $4300 - $4600 (depending on student options for parts) + $250 FTA range and classroom fee.

Enrollment in any the class takes two steps – A $50 deposit payable to FTA (714-701-9918) and a $500 deposit payable to Cylinder and Slide (402-721-4277)
Note: Your Mil-Spec 1911 must be sent to Cylinder and Slide by February 1, 2011 to prepare it for the class (stripping of parts and dovetailing slide for student sight option)
